Let’s get something straight: getting a website built isn’t just about pixels and plugins. It’s about building something that works for your business, represents your brand with intention, and can actually move people to take action.
Whether you’re thinking about hiring me or just wondering how this whole “professional web design” process works — welcome. I’m pulling back the curtain.
Let’s walk through exactly how I take you from idea → impact.
Phase 1: The Discovery Call (a.k.a. The Fit Check)
Before we talk code, color palettes, or calendars, we hop on a 15–30 minute call. No pressure. No pitch deck.
This is where I figure out:
- What your business is really about.
- What you’re building toward (not just this year — I want to know what your 10-year vision looks like).
- How your website fits into the bigger picture.
And while I’m learning about you, I’ll share how I work — clear, strategic, and aligned. If it feels like a fit, I give you some light homework:
âś… Send me examples of websites you vibe with
âś… Share any visual or brand elements you already love
âś… Point me toward what matters most to you
This is where clarity starts.
Phase 2: The Proposal (This Ain’t Just Paperwork)
With your input and inspiration, I go to work. I build a proposal that:
- Breaks the website into clear phases
- Lays out what I’ll design and develop
- Shows 2 homepage design directions based on your vision
- Calls out any functionality, from booking systems to e-commerce
- Notes whether we’ll need stock images or a photo shoot to bring it to life
You review, you approve, and you choose the homepage direction that hits the mark. That becomes our foundation.
Then you sign the contract and make the deposit — all online, all seamless.
Phase 3: Gathering Assets + Creating Blueprints
Before the build, we gather:
- Your website copy: About section, services, product info, etc.
- Your images: Brand photos, product pics, or stock images we curate
- Your vision for how you want people to feel when they land on your site
While you’re submitting those, I’m working behind the scenes on wireframes — a.k.a. the blueprints for your site. This is the part most folks skip, but it’s what makes a site work.
Think of it like sketching a floor plan before you build the house.
Phase 4: Design + Development (Time to Build the House)
Now we move into the WordPress build. And let me be clear:
This is the part where we stop tweaking and start constructing.
Everything we agreed on — layout, flow, copy, images — gets transformed into an actual website.
This is also when:
- I connect your domain and hosting (and teach you how to own both — no hostages here)
- I build out pages based on the approved wireframes
- I integrate anything your business needs: booking, payments, forms, email lists, CRMs, you name it
Most of my clients? Chill during this phase. I’ve got it. You’ll hear from me when it’s time to test.
Phase 5: Testing, Revisions, and Real Talk
Once the site is built, I run it through a full test:
- Desktop, tablet, mobile
- Forms, buttons, checkout, integrations
- Every click, scroll, and submission
Then it’s your turn. You get a full version to test as your customer would. I tell all my clients:
“Don’t look at it as the owner. Walk through it as a user trying to hire you, book you, or buy from you.”
You’ll have 1–2 rounds of revisions to clean up anything that needs adjusting. After that? It’s go time.
Phase 6: Launch + Ownership
Once you give the green light and send the final payment, we lock in your launch date.
I also encourage you to let 3–5 trusted people run through the site and give honest feedback — just to be sure the experience is smooth and effective.
And then, here’s the kicker:
I don’t leave you stranded.
You’ll get:
- General WordPress training videos (for editing, updating, and not breaking things)
- A custom walkthrough video of your site showing exactly how to manage what matters
Why? Because control matters. Ownership matters. And confidence in your platform matters.
Final Word (This Is Bigger Than a Website)
A website isn’t just a digital business card. It’s a tool. When done right, it works with you to grow your business, build trust, and create real results.
